Max Moy Wheatley, from Orpington, was found fatally injured in Petts Wood on September 20.

Detectives have released images and video footage of two people they wish to identify in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Bromley teenager in south-east London.

Max Moy Wheatley, 19, was found injured in Petts Wood on September 2. The Met Police was made aware via a call from the London Ambulance Service, which reported a man had been stabbed in Jubilee Country Park, near Tent Peg Lane.

The Orpington teenager died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination on September 22 gave cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Detective Chief Inspector Laura Semple, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation has already made good progress in piecing together the events that led to the attack on Max and we are now in a position to ask the public for their help in identifying these two males.

“Do you recognise them? If so, please get in contact with my team. Your information will be treated with the utmost sensitivity. However, if you’re not confident speaking to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. They will not ask for your identity.”

The Met is asking anyone with information to call the police via 101 quoting reference CAD 3972/20Sep.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries continue.
