Man charged with rape of 15-year-old girl in Peckham

A 32-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a 15-year old girl in Peckham.

Abioina Dele Lawal, of no fixed address, was charged with the offence last night.

He will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today.

On Sunday, the teen girl reported being taken by the McDonalds, in Rye Lane, and then allegedly raped in William Griggs Garden, off Elm Grove.

This is just metres from where a woman reported a stranger rape on January 14, however police said there was “no evidence to suggest that these incidents are linked”.
