Hornchurch stabbing: East London school put on lockdown after person knifed

An east London college has been evacuated after a male was stabbed on a busy road in Hornchurch.

Police were called to Ardleigh Green Road, Hornchurch, at approximately 10.41am today (February 21) to reports of a person being knifed.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the male, whose age has not been confirmed, was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not yet known.

Police are yet to make any arrests as enquiries continue.

A cordon is in place on Ardleigh Green Road between Squirrels Heath Road and Nelmes Way whilst officers carry out an investigation into the incident

New City College has been evacuated due to the incident.

A spokesperson for the college said: "We are investigating what happened and the college is currently on lockdown so no students can come in."
