Hina Bashir: Man charged with murder of Ilford woman, 21, after body found in Upminster

A man has been charged with the murder of a 21-year-old woman from Ilford, after a body was found in Upminster.
Mohammed Arslan, of Natal Road, Ilford, was charged with the murder of Hina Bashir, who had been reported missing, this morning (Monday, July 18).

Hide AdThe 26-year-old will appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court later today.
It comes after the body of a woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was found in Folkes Lane, Upminster, in the early hours of Sunday, July 17.
Met Police officers launched a murder investigation after the discovery..
But Ms Bashir’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Hide AdDet Ch Insp Dave Whellams, from the Met Police, said: “My thoughts are with Hina’s family who have suffered a terrible loss. We will provide them with whatever support we can.
“We are continuing our work to develop a full understanding of what happened to Hina, not just in recent days but in the weeks prior to this terrible incident.
“I would urge anyone who may have information which could assist us to come forward.”
