Erith: Murder investigation launched after fatal shooting

A man has died in south-east London after suffering a gunshot wound.

The Met Police has launched a murder investigation following the shooting in Erith on Thursday (February 9).

Police were called at approximately 8.50pm to reports of shots fired in Pembroke Road.

Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended and a male was found a short distance away in Hillside, suffering a gunshot injury.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services he died at the scene.

Police say enquiries are under way to confirm his identity and inform his next of kin.

Road closures remained in place at the location on Friday morning.

No arrests have been made.
