A man has been charged with murder after a man in his 20s was stabbed to death in southeast London.

Robert Robinson was fatally stabbed in Carteret Way, Deptford on Thursday June 6.

Police were called at around 10.35pm to reports of a stabbing.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended but despite their best efforts Mr Robinson, who lived locally, died at the scene.

Dalziell Wedderburn, 44, was one of two men arrested shortly after the incident. He was charged with murder on June 9 and will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday June 10.

The second person arrested - a 50-year-old man - has been bailed to a date in early September.
