Acton stabbing: 21-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder after woman, 58, fatally knifed

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman aged 58 was fatally stabbed in Acton.

Met Police officers and paramedics were called to Boddington Gardens, in Acton Town, Ealing, at 3.37pm yesterday (Monday, August 15), following reports of a disturbance.

A 58-year-old woman was found at the scene with stab wounds.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, gave first aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers have launched a murder investigation following the incident.

A 21-year-old woman, who was known to the deceased, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

She was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injury before being transferred to police custody where she remains.

While a 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

He was taken to a west London police station and has since been released with no further action to be taken against him.

DCI Jim Shirley, from specialist crime command, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who has lost her life in this incident. They will continue to receive our full support.

“While an early arrest in this investigation is a positive development, we are still keen to build a picture of what happened.

“I would appeal to anyone who lives nearby or who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward if they saw or heard anything unusual.

“No piece of information is insignificant.”

The killing is the fifth murder in the capital in just four days.

Kacey Boothe, 25, was shot in Walthamstow, east London, last Saturday night.

Stephen Goodman, 60, was fatally injured during a fight in Dagenham, east London, in the early hours of Sunday. A 23-year-old local man has been charged with murder.

Sonny Booty, 36, was found dead at a house in Lewisham, south east London, on Sunday morning. A 53-year-old man has been charged with murder.

A man was fatally stabbed in Soho, central London, yesterday (Monday, August 15).
