The Bridget Jones London premiere actually took place last night - here's what went down

Alright, we know what you’re thinking... for weeks we’ve been telling you the Bridget Jones premiere is taking place on February 11th - but that’s because we thought it was.
All the information online for UK premiere listings said it would be happening the week of its UK release but alas we were hoodwinked, because it actually happened last night.

Anyway, rant over, here’s what went down at the London premiere of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy last night (January 29th, 2025.)
Bridget Jones London premiere

The highly anticipated premiere of the fourth Bridget Jones movie took place at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square.
A video shared on TikTok showed a large backdrop featuring the London skyline with landmarks such as The Shard and Gherkin visible.

It appeared to be quite the team effort to transform Leicester Square into the set of one of the biggest rom-coms of the year.
In addition to the London skyscape, there was also a pretty pink and purple flower wall, with the movie title on it.

Pink carpet props included a giant book emblazoned with the title: Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy and large billboard photos of key characters including Hugh Grant (Daniel Cleaver) and Renee Zellweger (Bridget Jones).

It goes without saying that Renee was the star of the pink carpet. The actress stunned in a floor-length strapless pink gown and glamorous side ponytail.

Key members of the cast include Bridget’s new love interests Rockster (played by Leo Woodall) and Mr Wallaker (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) who delighted fans on the pink carpet.
Of course, our man Hugh Grant attended the premiere and charmed fans by taking selfies with them on the pink carpet. He looked every inch the gentleman in his unbuttoned shirt and jacket.
Favourites from the Bridget Jones franchise were there including Celia Imrie (Una Alconbury), Shirley Henderson (Jude), and James Callis (Tom).

Red carpet attendees included Jamie Laing and his wife Sophie Habboo, who stunned in an all-leather outfit.
Beverley Knight, Jenni Falconer, Tina Hobley, Vanessa Feltz, and Neil Pearson were among the beloved British stars to attend the event in Leicester Square.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy hits UK cinemas on 13th February 2025 - otherwise known as Galentine’s Day.
