The average house price in London has increased by £298,871 in value over 20 years, new figures show.
According to research by Purplebricks, the area in London that has seen the biggest rise is Kensington and Chelsea where average house prices have gone up £701,354.

Hide AdThe average house price in the lucrative area, where residents include Sir Richard Branson has jumped from 495,894 in 2004 to £1,197,249 in 2024.
Properties in Westminster and Camden have also seen eye-watering price rises over the same period, with values increasing £572,172 and £467,588 respectively.
The report also revealed that across Britain, the average homeowner has seen a £159,894 increase in the value of their property over the two decades since January 2004.
