Leyton: We visited 'London's coolest neighbourhood' and we have mixed feelings about it

It goes without saying but London is pretty cool.
The city has dozens of hip and trendy neighbourhoods, bursting with life and colour.

Hide AdLast week, Time Out released its list of the ‘coolest places to live in the World’ - and one London town made the cut.
Leyton in East London was named among the hottest places to live on the Planet by the magazine.
Truthfully, we were shocked by this ranking, so we hopped on the Central Line to see what all the fuss is about.

Hide AdTime Out praised the town for having the best of both worlds, with access to both the bustling city and leafy Essex.
While our visit did little to convince us that Leyton is the ‘coolest’ place to live in London, we did discover some vibrant and interesting streets.
AND some of the best fried chicken, we’ve ever had!
It’s also clear that the locals love it here, with many staying in the town for years.
