Five London takeaways open on Christmas Day: where to order food through Uber Eats - from Yum Yum to Al Dente

With Christmas Day edging ever so close, people are out grabbing the last bit of veg for their festive meal, or buying some last minute presents.

Some may wish to break from tradition - if this sounds like you, please read on.

The restaurants open on Christmas Day have been found via popular food ordering app Uber Eats. You can order via laptop, or use the Uber Eats app on any Apple or Android product. All you simply need to do to sign up is simply enter your email address, postcode and credit/debit card details.

Whether you order from these restaurants after devouring a Christmas dinner, or simply use them as you usually would, here are five London restaurants open for Christmas Day:

1) Punjab Indian

One restaurant accepting orders on Christmas Day in Punjab Indian, and you can find them at 80 Neal Street, London, WC2H 9PA.

On Uber Eats, from 116 ratings, they currently boast 4.5 stars.

On their “picked for you” section which selects their specials, or best meals features Punjabi Samosas, Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala and their Butter Chicken which they describe as the “Godfather of all Punjabi dishes”.

2) Yum Yum (Victoria)

Yum Yum specialises in Chinese food, and they’re located here: 28 Denbigh St, London, London SW1V 2ER.

With only 26 ratings, they have still garnered a very respectful 4.2 star ratings.

On the Uber Eats website, it states: “The Egg Fried Rice is one of the the most popular items of the 180 things on the menu and the Fried Spare Ribs and the House Special Noodles are two of the items most commonly ordered together at this evening go-to.”

As well as that, their other best performing dishes include Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork, Singapore Vermicelli and more.

3) Sushi Essence (Kensington)

Sushi Essence seemingly caters to everyone, as they’re labelled as Japanese , Asian, Halal and serve vegetarian options, too.

They are located at: 334 Kennington Rd, London, England SE11

From 200+ ratings, Sushi Essence have built up a wonderful 4.7 stars.

The best items from their extensive menu include a Katsu Chicken Curry, Gyoza Chicken, a large assorted set of Sushi, Sweet Chilli Chicken and a Salmon Sushi set.

They also have their special set for £56.95, which includes - as per Uber Eats - “50 pieces. Eight pieces dragon roll, eight pieces chefs roll, six pieces Philadelphia roll, six pieces salmon avocado roll, six pieces prawn tempura roll, six pieces spring roll salmon avocado, two pieces salmon nigiri, two pieces tuna nigiri, three pieces salmon sashimi, and three pieces tuna sashimi.”

If you fancy a nice Italian on Christmas Day, look no further than Al Dente.

On Uber Eats, Al Dente is described as: “You’re looking at one of the hottest places for delivery in London and one of three most popular places for Pasta takeaway. When in London... Consider ordering from Al Dente, because it’s particularly popular among locals.”

Tiramisu is among the best dishes at Al Dente, as well as Spaghetti Carbonara, Paccheri Ragu and Gnocchi Sorrentina.

From over 200 ratings, Al Dente has a 4.6 star rating, proving they’re very good.

5) Khan’s of Kensington

Khan’s of Kensington specialises in Indian food, and is a great spot to choose to order from.

On Uber Eats, it says: “You’ve found one of the 10 South Kensington spots Uber Eats users order from the most. If you’re a fan of pilau rice takeaway like the rest of your city, you’ll be happy to know it’s offered at Khan’s of Kensington.”

As well as the Pilau rice, Khan’s of Kensington also offers Daal Tarka, Daal Markani, Saag and more.

Khan’s has a 4.5 star rating from 71 ratings.
