Established during the pandemic in the kitchen of founders Tom Mathews and Sian Evans, the eatery is now one of the most sought after sandwich shops in the whole of the city thanks to the power of social media.

It operates a weekly changing menu, serving sandwiches between Wednesdays and Fridays, and each Monday, as soon as a new £10 sandwich is announced on Instagram, the bakery sells out in under a minute — more than 150 every day.

Some of the sandwiches on offer include the ‘Mofo Tartufo’, made of pistachio mortadella with creamed truffle and ricotta.

Other creations include the ‘Diavola’ – prosciutto cotto with sharp provolone cheese and freshly-made basil aioli – and the ‘Seoul-Ful Sando’ – roasted chicken in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce.

LondonWorld spoke to some of its regular and new customers about what makes this place so special.

Crystal Palace local Laurence admitted that thanks to his Mediterranean girlfriend, his focaccia pick-up was non-negotiable.

He said: “It’s some of the best focaccia in London. My girlfriend is Italian and she verified it, so I have to bring it home.”

Others had come from further afield. Francesca had seen videos of Chatsworth Bakehouse on social media and wanted to check it out for herself, she even brought her dog from Central London - but the baked goods weren’t for the pup!

Joshua has now admitted to coming to the bakery once a week for the last month. He said: “My first sandwich was three weeks ago, and now I come once a week.

“Today I got the Bhaji special, a cereal cookie and the Jalapeño Focaccia.” But Joshua often misses the 12:30 drop on a Monday, when customers can pre-order their pick-ups.

The shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday - pre-ordering is advised but focaccias and treats are available for walk ups too.
