Though Boxing Day sales may pale in comparison in recent years compared to the likes of Black Friday or January sales, there is still that thrill of the hunt the day after Christmas Day. Plus those presents that came with a receipt? A hint at a Boxing Day return if need be.

With Christmas this year taking place on a Sunday, a number of local facilities including bin collections and pharmacies have included December 27 as an additional day off, when Christmas Day is observed in lieu of its weekend arrival. Not so much for retailers, however, as a number of London shopping centres throw their doors open on Boxing Day, some with longer hours to ease the Boxing Day rush.

Be it the offers that will grace window displays in both Stratford City and London Westfield Centres, the thrifty, retro appeal of One New Change for a glamorous New Years Eve in the capital, through to the kooky pop-up treasure that Boxpark has, many stores will be operating regular hours on Boxing Day.

Which also means that if you’re tired of Christmas leftovers (already) by Boxing Day, a number of food courts in these shopping centres will be ready and waiting to offer you something a little different than the standard turkey stuffing sandwich. We look forward to what Boxpark Shoreditch will serve up especially.

Londonworld has brought together the Boxing Day opening times for destinations Visit London recommends as a “must visit” for all your shopping and food court needs in the capital.
