Paul Clarke joined National World in December 2021 as Group Sport Editor having worked at Reach PLC for six years before that.

Starting out as a freelance writer in 2011 covering rugby league and lifestyle, Paul then joined GiveMeSport back in 2014 as a US sport writer and presenter helping the company establish a US presence.

Paul moved to Hull Live in 2015 to work on the rugby league club Hull FC and covered the side across the globe, including Challenge Cup wins at Wembley in 2016 and 2017 and a pre-season tour of Australia in 2018 which involved the first Super League played Down Under.

Having enjoyed almost four years covering Hull FC and occasional football content at Hull Live, the next step was to join a new central sport team at Reach PLC in February 2019. Paul would subsequently become one of the content editors for the team which worked across football the following year, before switching to National World at the back end of 2021.

Paul has now taken over the running of the entire City World Sport division, which encompasses 16 titles and 48 sport staff and has become a sport vertical within National World.
