Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of two key players who will likely miss the weekend game against West Ham.

Chelsea continue to be hit with injuries with Trevoh Chalobah suffering a setback on his way to returning from the hamstring injury he picked up in pre-season.

Chalobah missed the game against Liverpool but was back in training earlier this week before swiftly walking back into the treatment room for what looked like another hamstring injury. The injury to the club captain Reece James has dominated the headlines but Trevoh when fit is one of the formidable centre-backs in the team and his injury is a massive blow to Mauricio Pochettino.

According to the Dailymail, the injury will keep the English centre-back out for at least a month and he’ll definitely miss the weekend’s game against West Ham on Sunday.

Chalobah has been recently pushed down the pecking order and has been linked with an exit this summer following the arrival of Wesely Fofana, Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill, and Benoit Badiashile.

Chelsea began their season with an impressive 1-1 draw against Liverpool and in truth they should have won it after having the best of the second half.

The game against West Ham will see two teams that will be looking for their first league win after the Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in the first weekend of the Premier League.

Chelsea will also likely hand debut to Moises Caicedo, who joined the Blues from Brighton and Hove Albion for a fee in the region of £115million. Chelsea are still in the market for another goalkeeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga moved to Real Madrid.
