GP Rankings: The top 10 GP practices in south west London

The annual survey saw around 760,000 patients complete a questionnaire asking about their experiences with the local GP surgery.

The NHS England figures showed overall satisfaction in GPs across England fell to its lowest level since the survey began in 2018, with 71.3% of patients rating the service as "good" or "very good" in 2023 – down from 72.4% in 2022.

But where are the highest-rated GP practices in south west London?

We ranked the top 10 in the area by the percentage of people who rated the service as good or very good, excluding those with fewer than 100 responses.

1. Wrythe Green Surgery

Of the 124 people who responded to the GP survey, 96.8% described their overall experience of Wrythe Green Surgery as "good" or "very good".

Some 64.7% said the practice was very good, while 32.1% said it was good. No one said the service was poor or very poor.

2. Richmond Lock Surgery

Coming in second was Richmond Lock Surgery, where 58.1% of 125 people said their experience at the practice was very good, and 37.8% described it as good.

It meant the practice was rated at least good by 96% of patients, making it the second-highest rated practice in south west London.

3. Selsdon Park Medical Practice

Selsdon Park Medical Practice came in third with a score of 95%.

Some 64.9% of patients at the practice rated the service as very good, while a further 30.1% believed it was just good.

Meanwhile, no one described the service as poor, but 3.2% said it was very poor.

4. Heathbridge Practice

Coming in just outside the top three was Heathbridge Practice, which 94.1% of 114 patients rated as good or very good.

The practice was rated very good by 54.5% of patients, and good by 39.6%.

However, no patients said the service was very poor, but 4.2% said it was poor.

5. Bramley Avenue Surgery

Rounding out the top five GP practices in south west London was Bramley Avenue Surgery.

Of the 116 patients who responded to the GP survey, 92.4% said their experience at the practice was either good or very good.

This included 62.2% saying the practice was "very good", the highest grade on the survey.

6. Open Door Surgery

With 92.3% of 117 patients grading the practice as good or very good, Open Door Surgery ranked sixth in south west London.

At the other end of the scale, just 0.4% said their overall experience was poor or very poor.

7. Sheen Lane Surgery

At seventh place in the rankings was Sheen Lane Surgery.

Patients' experience at the practice was rated as good or very good by 92% of the 121 respondents to the GP survey.

Of those, 55.9% rated it as very good.

8. Selhurst Medical Centre

Selhurst Medical Centre lands at eighth in south west London.

This is thanks to 91.1% of patients at the practice describing their overall experience there as good or very good.

Of them, 62.8% said the service was very good, while 28.3% described it as good.

9. Balham Health Centre

Coming it at ninth in the rankings is Balham Health Centre.

Some 90.4% of the 111 patients who responded to the GP survey graded its service as good or very good.

At the other end of the scale, 0.4% said their experience at the practice was very poor.

10. Southfields Group Practice

Rounding out the top 10 GP practices in south west London is Southfields Group Practice, which was graded good or very good by 89.7% of patients who responded to the GP survey.

However, no one rated the service as very poor, the lowest possible grade.
