A Tower Hamlets restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Acer Restaurant Middlesex Ltd, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Unit 1, 100 Middlesex Street, London was given the maximum score after assessment on January 5, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Tower Hamlets's 1,053 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 734 (70%) have ratings of five and just eight have zero ratings.
