New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tower Hamlets’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Periland, at 93-95 Commercial Road, London was handed a two-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 5.

And Smoke Grill & Pizza, at 5 Osborn Street, London was given a score of one on October 5.

It means that of Tower Hamlets's 1,028 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 699 (68%) have ratings of five and just eight have zero ratings.
