New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tower Hamlets’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Tayyabs Restaurant, at 83-89 Fieldgate Street, London was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 6.

And Chun Easy Thai, at 89 Whitechapel High Street, London was given a score of two on June 6.

It means that of Tower Hamlets's 1,018 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 704 (69%) have ratings of five and just four have zero ratings.
