New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tower Hamlets’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Hichki, at 16-18 Whitechapel Road, London was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on August 14.

And Ponchokhana, at 241 Whitechapel Road, London was given a score of one on August 14.

It means that of Tower Hamlets's 1,018 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 693 (68%) have ratings of five and just six have zero ratings.
