Good news as food hygiene ratings given to 15 Southwark establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 15 of Southwark’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to 10 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Rest up london / driscoll house at 172, New Kent Road, London; rated on January 10

• Rated 5: El socavon at 190-192, Old Kent Road, London; rated on January 9

• Rated 5: Gail's bakery/cafe at Unit B2, 194-204, Bermondsey Street, London; rated on January 9
