Richmond house prices increased slightly in July
House prices increased slightly, by 0.5%, in Richmond in July, new figures show.
The rise contributes to the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 3.4% over the last year.

Over the month, the picture was different to that across London, where prices increased 1.1%.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Richmond rose by £26,000 – putting the area second among London’s 33 local authorities with price data for annual growth.
The highest annual growth in the region was in City of London, where property prices increased on average by 5%, to £905,000. At the other end of the scale, properties in Kensington and Chelsea lost 10.8% of their value, giving an average price of £1,345,000.

First-time buyers in Richmond spent an average of £601,000 on their property – £18,000 more than a year ago, and £68,000 more than in July 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £890,000 on average in July – 48.1% more than first-time buyers.

Owners of detached houses saw the biggest rise in property prices in Richmond in July – they increased 0.9%, to £1,716,841 on average. Over the last year, prices rose by 3.6%.
