Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to 12 Richmond establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 12 of Richmond’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to 11 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Thai Upon Thames at 346 Richmond Road, Twickenham; rated on September 4

• Rated 5: Maison Artisanal Bella Del Gelato at 343 Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen, London; rated on August 31

• Rated 5: Glass Door Night Shelter at Barnes Methodist Church, Station Road, Barnes, London; rated on August 24

• Rated 5: Lockdown Bakehouse at 56 Church Road, Barnes, London; rated on August 24

• Rated 5: NSSport Holiday Activities and Care Club at St Osmunds R C Primary School, Church Road, Barnes, London; rated on August 24

• Rated 5: Isaac's Coffee at Lower Ground, 120 St Margarets Road, Twickenham; rated on August 21

• Rated 5: Kateys Nursery & Pre School at Pavilion At Ham Playing Fields, Riverside Drive, Ham; rated on August 16
