New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Redbridge’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Singam Bay Bar & Restaurant, at 632-634 Cranbrook Road, Ilford was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 23.

And Urban Chocolatier Barkingside, at 37-39 High Street, Barkingside was also given a score of five on March 7.

It means that of Redbridge's 364 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 222 (61%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
