Portobello Road in West London is one of the most well-known and beloved streets in London.
Home to the famous Portobello Road market, it is a colourful hub of activity in the capital.
On Saturdays, Portobello Road transforms into a bustling hub of antique stalls, where you can find everything from vintage jewellery to retro furniture. During the week it hosts a variety of food stalls, fresh produce and crafts.
The street itself dates back to the 1800s. However, the market as we know it today started to take shape around 1860, when it became a significant location for selling fruits and vegetables.
The antique market, which is now one of its most famous features, began to establish itself in the 1940s.
