Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to 12 Newham establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 12 of Newham’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to seven restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Cafiteria Ltd at 552a Romford Road, Manor Park, London; rated on March 22

• Rated 5: McDonalds - Forest Gate at Mcdonalds, 322 Romford Road, Forest Gate, London; rated on March 21

• Rated 5: McDonalds at 4 - 5 Mary Rose Mall, Beckton, London; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: McDonalds - Claps Gate Lane at Unit 1, Gateway Retail Park, Claps Gate Lane, Beckton; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: McDonalds - East Ham at 28 - 32 High Street North, East Ham, London; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: McDonalds - Westfield at 1 Food Court, Westfield Stratford City, Montfichet Road, Stratford; rated on March 19

• Rated 5: McDonalds - Stratford at Units 1 And 2, East Mall, The Mall, Stratford; rated on March 17
