New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newham’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Chicken City, at 366 Barking Road, Plaistow, London was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 4.

And D & K Gambian Roast Chicken And Rice, at 3 Chestnut Avenue, Forest Gate, London was given a score of one on July 4.

It means that of Newham's 333 takeaways with ratings, 144 (43%) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
