New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newham’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Chawny Coffee & Restaurant, at Store B Rear Of, 34 - 40 Plashet Grove, East Ham, London was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 3.

And The Girl Of Sandwiches, at 11 Albert Road, North Woolwich, London was also given a score of four on January 3.

It means that of Newham's 305 takeaways with ratings, 127 (42%) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
