New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newham’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Ashes, at 146 High Street South, East Ham, London was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 11.

And Vasantha Vilas, at 206 High Street North, East Ham, London was also given a score of three on March 11.

It means that of Newham's 582 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 351 (60%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
