Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to seven Merton establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven of Merton’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Itsu at Unit 3 Ground Floor Wimbledon Bridge House, 1 Hartfield Road, Wimbledon, London; rated on April 27

• Rated 5: iDimSum at 80 The Broadway, London; rated on April 26

• Rated 5: At the Corner Cafe by Instagrab Pretzel at 11-13 London Road, Morden; rated on April 20

• Rated 5: McDonald's at Ground Floor, 1-3 The Broadway, London; rated on April 18

• Rated 5: Premier at 340 Grand Drive, Raynes Park, London; rated on April 17

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The Charles Holden at 198 High Street Collier'S Wood, Colliers Wood; rated on April 18
