Good news as food hygiene ratings given to 13 Merton establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 13 of Merton’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to 10 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Bella Donna at 87 London Road, Morden; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: Cafe SW19 at 234 Merton Road, South Wimbledon, London; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: Carluccio's at 25 High Street, Wimbledon; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: The Fox's Den at Stanford Primary School, Chilmark Road, Streatham, London; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: vee & jay's gyaadze at 179a London Road, Mitcham; rated on January 20

• Rated 5: Morden Cafe at 16 London Road, Morden; rated on January 19

• Rated 5: Pre school - Jancett childcare at Nursery School, Newminster Children'S Centre, Newminster Road, Morden; rated on January 19

• Rated 5: Wimpy at 56 London Road, Morden; rated on January 19
