Good news as food hygiene ratings given to 11 Merton restaurants

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 11 of Merton’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

The following ratings have been given to 11 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Liberty Woodland School at Morden Lodge, Morden Hall Park, Morden Hall Road, Morden; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: Prezzemolo & Vitale at 4-5 High Street, Wimbledon; rated on January 25

• Rated 5: Megan's Deli at 86 High Street, Wimbledon; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: Touro at 44 The Broadway, Wimbledon; rated on January 22

• Rated 5: Vibes of Hyderabad Limited at 115a Merton Road, Wimbledon; rated on January 22

• Rated 5: Dicky Birds Nursery at 71 Pelham Road, Wimbledon; rated on January 19

• Rated 5: Oddonos at 52 The Broadway, Wimbledon; rated on January 18

• Rated 5: Polka Theatre Cafe at 240 The Broadway, Wimbledon; rated on January 17

• Rated 5: Top Cat Breakfast Club at Holy Trinity C Of E Primary School, Effra Road, Wimbledon; rated on January 17

• Rated 5: Five Guys at 48-50 The Broadway, Wimbledon; rated on January 16

• Rated 5: Crown Coffee House at 12 Crown Lane, Morden; rated on January 12

It means that of Merton's 486 similar establishments with ratings, 390 (80%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
