Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to six Kingston establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to six of Kingston’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: St John The Evangelist Church at Parish Hall, Grove Lane, Kingston Upon Thames; rated on October 30

• Rated 5: Ramos Turkish Restaurant at 140a London Road, Kingston Upon Thames; rated on October 26

• Rated 5: Square 1 Cafe - YMCA Hawker Centre at Hawker Centre, Lower Ham Road, Kingston Upon Thames; rated on October 26

• Rated 5: Sticks N Sushi Kingston at Unit G16 Ground Floor, The Bentall Centre, Wood Street, Kingston Upon Thames; rated on October 23

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The North Star at 271 Hook Road, Chessington; rated on October 18
