Good news as food hygiene ratings given to seven Kingston establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven of Kingston’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Dorich House Museum at Dorich House, Kingston Vale, London; rated on February 25

• Rated 5: Norbiton Sandwich Shop at 48 Coombe Road, Kingston Upon Thames; rated on February 25

• Rated 5: Il Villaggio at 8 Blagdon Road, New Malden; rated on February 24

• Rated 5: Nando's at 197 High Street, New Malden; rated on February 24

• Rated 5: The Biryani Centre at 94 Burlington Road, New Malden; rated on February 24

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: Woodies Freehouse at Woodies, Thetford Road, New Malden; rated on February 24
