Food hygiene ratings given to eight Kensington and Chelsea restaurants

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Kensington and Chelsea’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to eight restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Flying Horse Coffee at 112 Golborne Road, London; rated on July 10

• Rated 5: HUO at 9 Park Walk, London; rated on July 7

• Rated 5: Virgin Active - Kensington London at Former Fourth Floor, 17a Old Court Place, London; rated on July 7

• Rated 5: Beluga at 147-149 Notting Hill Gate, London; rated on July 5

• Rated 5: La Despensa at Offices, 48-49 Princes Place, London; rated on July 4

• Rated 5: Builders Arms at Public House, 1 Kensington Court Place, London; rated on June 29

• Rated 5: Muffin Man Tea Shop at 12 Wright'S Lane, London; rated on June 29

• Rated 3: Little India at Basement To Second Floor, 32 Gloucester Road, London; rated on June 5

It means that of Kensington and Chelsea's 869 similar establishments with ratings, 742 (85%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
