Good news as food hygiene ratings given to six Islington establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to six of Islington’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Big Sky Studios at Ground First And Second Floors Excluding Second Floor Centre, 29-31 Brewery Road, Islington; rated on March 7

• Rated 5: The Guitar Social at 26 Caledonian Road, Islington, London; rated on March 3

• Rated 5: Sambal Shiok Ltd at 171 Holloway Road, Islington, London; rated on March 2

• Rated 5: Gather & Gather @ The Ray at 119 Farringdon Road, Islington, London; rated on February 24

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The White Lion at 125-127 Stroud Green Road, Islington, London; rated on February 27
