Good news as food hygiene ratings given to nine Islington establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Islington’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to seven restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Fantail at 274b St Paul'S Road, Islington, London; rated on June 27

• Rated 5: Sadlers Wells Catering at Sadlers Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, Islington; rated on June 22

• Rated 5: Banana Tree/What's Your Katsu/Mimi's at 412 St John Street, Islington, London; rated on June 21

• Rated 5: Starbucks at Ground Floor Shop Unit, 250 Upper Street, Islington; rated on June 19

• Rated 5: Starbucks at Ground And First Floors, 7 Islington High Street, Islington; rated on June 12

• Rated 5: Pizza Pilgrims Limited at 15 Exmouth Market, Islington, London; rated on June 7

• Rated 5: Coffee Tree at 92-92a Old Street, Islington, London; rated on June 5
