But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start this week:

A30, from 10pm August 9 to 5am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Town Lane to boundary, Lane closure for electrical works.

A30, from 10pm August 11 to 5am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, TFL boundary to Town Lane, Lane closure for electrical works.

M4, from 10pm August 22 to 5.30am August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4, Lane closures for smart motorway works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
