Road closures: nine for Hillingdon drivers this week

Drivers in and around Hillingdon will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M25, from 11pm April 8 to 5.30am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• M4, from 11pm April 8 to 5.30am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4B, carriageway and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via local authority roads.

• M25, from 12.02am December 1 2021 to 11.59pm June 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 15, Hard shoulder closure for CAT 1 embankment erosion.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M25, from 10pm April 11 to 5.30am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4B to junction 5, carriageway and link road closure for smart motorway works, diversion via Local authorities.

• M25, from 10pm April 12 to 6am April 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound to M25 A and B, link road closure for maintenance work, diversion via Highways England Network.

• M40, from 10pm April 19 to 6am April 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 1a to junction 1, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M25, from 10pm April 20 to 6am April 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise to M40 northbound, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M25, from 11pm April 22 to 5.30am April 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• M4, from 11pm April 22 to 5.30am April 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4B, carriageway and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via local authority roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
