Road closures: more than a dozen for Hillingdon drivers this week

Drivers in and around Hillingdon will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M4, from 8pm January 6 to 6am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 7 to 5, slip road and lane closures for M4 Smart Motorways.

• M25, from 3pm December 15 2022 to 3pm December 15 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 15, Hard shoulder closure for CAT 1 embankment erosion.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M4, from 10pm May 9 to 5.30am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3, Lane closures for vegetation works.

• M4, from 10pm May 11 to 5.30am May 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4b to junction 3, Lane closures for Smart Motorways.

• M4, from 10pm May 11 to 5.30am May 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4b, Lane closures for Smart Motorways.

• M25, from 10pm May 13 to 5.30am May 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway closure, lane closures and entry slip road closures for M4 SMP works, diversion via TFL and National Highways roads.

• M25, from 9pm May 14 to 5am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 northbound to M40 northbound, link road, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M40, from 9pm May 14 to 5am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M25, from 9pm May 14 to 5am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 southbound to M40 northbound, link road, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M4, from 11.30pm May 14 to 3.30am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 southbound, junction 4 to junction 4a, Lane closure for investigatory drainage works (covers and CCTV surveys) on Heathrow Airport managed section of roundabout.

• M4, from 10pm May 17 to 5am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 4 roundabout, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M4, from 10pm May 17 to 5am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, Stockey Road to junction 4, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M4, from 10pm May 18 to 5am May 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 southbound, junction 4 to junction 4a, exit slip road and lane closure for CAT 1 electrical works, diversion via local authority network.

• M40, from 9pm May 20 to 5am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 1a to junction 2, Lane closures for maintenance work.

• M40, from 9pm May 20 to 5am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for maintenance work.

• M4, from 10pm May 22 to 5.30am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4b to junction 5, Lane closure for M4 Smart Motorway.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
