Hillingdon road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Hillingdon's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M4, from 10pm August 6 to 5.30am August 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4B, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for Smart Motorway works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M25, from 12.02am June 1 2022 to 11.59pm June 1 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 15, Hard shoulder closure for CAT 1 embankment erosion.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M25, from 10pm August 9 to 5.30am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 15 to M4, junction 4B, link road closure for M4 SMP, diversion via National Highways Roads.

• M4, from 10pm August 9 to 5.30am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane closures for smart motorway works.

• M25, from 10pm August 10 to 5am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25, junction 15 to junction 15 Anti clockwise, Lane closure for Speed / Red X Enforcement Camera maintenance - Recertification (4947B).

• M25, from 10pm August 10 to 5.30am August 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4B to junction 5, carriageway closure and M25 link roads closed for M4 Smart Motorway works, diversion via TFL and Local authority roads.

• M4, from 11pm August 12 to 5.30am August 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4B, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart Motorway works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M25, from 11pm August 12 to 5.30am August 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• M25, from 10pm August 14 to 5.30am August 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4B to junction 5, carriageway closure and link road closures for M4 SMP, diversion via TFL and National Highways Roads.

• A40, from 10pm August 17 to 6am August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A40 northbound to M40, junction 1, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M40, from 9pm August 18 to 5am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 1a to junction 1, Lane closure for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
