Hillingdon road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Hillingdon's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M25, from 11pm March 25 to 5.30am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4B to junction 5, carriageway and link road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via National Highways Network and local authority roads.

• M4, from 5.30am March 26 to 5.30am April 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4, slip road closure for smart motorway works.

• M25, from 12.02am December 1 2021 to 11.59pm June 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 15, Hard shoulder closure for CAT 1 embankment erosion.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M4, from 10pm March 28 to 5.30am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 northbound, junction 4, Lane closure for Smart motorway works.

• M4, from 10pm March 28 to 5.30am April 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4, exit slip road closure for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via National Highways network and local authority roads.

• M4, from 10pm March 28 to 5.30am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4, Lane closure for smart motorway works.

• M4, from 10pm March 28 to 5.30am April 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4, slip road closure for smart motorway works, diversion via National highways network.

• M25, from 10pm March 29 to 5.30am March 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 5, carriageway, link road and Lane closures, diversion via Local authorities.

• M25, from 10pm March 30 to 5.30am March 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• A40, from 9pm April 4 to 6am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 1a to junction 1, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M4, from 10pm April 4 to 5.30am April 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3, Lane closures for smart motorway works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
