New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of Hackney’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

• Rated 5: El Ganso Cafe at 59-61 Broadway Market, Hackney, London; rated on October 25

• Rated 5: JCJ London at 243 Well Street, Hackney, London; rated on October 25

• Rated 5: Palaette at 415 Mare Street, Hackney, London; rated on October 18

It means that of Hackney's 1,078 similar establishments with ratings, 625 (58%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
