Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to nine Greenwich establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Greenwich’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: McDonald's at 1 Twin Tumps Way, Thamesmead, Greenwich; rated on June 18

• Rated 5: Pizza Express at Unit 1 168 - 176 Eltham High Street, Eltham, Greenwich; rated on June 17

• Rated 5: Ristorante Carola at 151 - 157 Lee Road, London; rated on June 17

• Rated 5: Tudor Barn at Tudor Barn Well Hall Pleasaunce Well Hall Road, Eltham, Greenwich; rated on June 16

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And two ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: The Who'd A Thought It Public House at The Whoda Thought It 7 Timbercroft Lane, Plumstead, Greenwich; rated on June 25

• Rated 5: The Cutty Sark at The Cutty Sark 14 Joyce Dawson Way, Thamesmead, Greenwich; rated on June 18
