Crime on the rise in Enfield, official figures show
Crime has risen over the last year in Enfield, official police records reveal.
The Met Police recorded 30,059 offences in Enfield in the 12 months to March, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Hide AdThat was an increase of 8% compared to the previous year, when there were 27,909.
At 90.1 crimes per 1,000 people, that was in line with the rate across England and Wales, which stood at 89.3.
Of the crimes recorded in the area over the last 12 months, 834 were sexual offences – an increase of 15% from the year before.
Meanwhile, violent crime has risen in the area, from 8,612 to 9,411 over this period.

Hide AdOne of the main factors behind this increase was the rise in violence without injury, which rose by 14%, from 3,323 incidents to 3,789.
And theft offences rose by 8%, with 12,807 incidents recorded in the 12 months to March.
At 38.4 crimes per 1,000 people, that was far higher than the rate across England and Wales, which stood at 25.1.
