Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to nine Croydon establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Croydon’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Costa Coffee at 102 High Street, Thornton Heath; rated on January 27

• Rated 5: FUKO at 64 Westow Hill, Upper Norwood, London; rated on January 26

• Rated 5: Mithras Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant at 11 - 12 Suffolk House, George Street, Croydon; rated on January 25

• Rated 5: Caffe Nero at 45 George Street, Croydon; rated on January 20

Takeaways

And five ratings have been handed to takeaways:
