Good news as food hygiene ratings given to eight Croydon establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Croydon’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Priscilla's Tea Room at Priscillas Tearoom, 52 Limpsfield Road, South Croydon; rated on May 25

• Rated 5: Stella's Emporium at 1b The Parade, Coulsdon Road, Coulsdon; rated on May 25

• Rated 5: Hobnosh @ Kidspace at Unit 3, Colonnades, 619 Purley Way, Croydon; rated on May 23

• Rated 5: Superfryer at 8 High Street, Purley; rated on May 22

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And two ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: Golden Beer Ark Micropub at 186 Addington Road, South Croydon; rated on May 22

• Rated 5: The Bulls Head at Laud Street, Croydon; rated on May 22
