Croydon road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Croydon's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Croydon's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A23, from 8pm January 3 to 5.30am March 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A23 southbound, Star Lane to Church Lane, Lane closures under traffic signal control, for traffic signal upgrade.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A23, from 10pm January 29 to 5am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A23 northbound, Star Lane to Farthing Way, carriageway closure for routine maintenance, diversion via local authority network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
