Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to 11 Westminster restaurants

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 11 of Westminster’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

The following ratings have been given to 11 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: The Oxford Market at 11-13 Market Place, London; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: Trishna at 15-17 Blandford Street, London; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: Wasabi Sushi & Bento at 388 Strand, London; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: 3 Henrietta St at 3 Henrietta Street, London; rated on January 29

• Rated 5: Acorn Nursery at Mod Main Building Horse Guards Avenue, London; rated on January 29

• Rated 5: Caffe Nero at Serck House 60-61 Trafalgar Square, London; rated on January 29

• Rated 5: Koshari Street at 56 St Martin'S Lane, London; rated on January 29

• Rated 5: Masons Arms Public House at Whole Building 38 Maddox Street, London; rated on January 26

• Rated 5: Cote Brasserie at 6-8 St Christopher'S Place, London; rated on January 17

• Rated 5: Fireaway Victoria at 79 Wilton Road, London; rated on September 21

It means that of Westminster's 3,240 similar establishments with ratings, 2,183 (67%) have ratings of five and just 16 have zero ratings.
