Good news as food hygiene ratings given to eight City of London establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of City of London’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Elior, Credit Agricole Cib at Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London; rated on January 31

• Rated 5: Lexington, DRW Investments UK at The Leadenhall Building, 122 Leadenhall Street, London; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: DP World Amenities Restaurant, DP World at London Gateway Port Ltd (Dp World), 1 London Gateway Drive, Stanford Le Hope, Thurrock; rated on January 26

• Rated 5: Tilbury Seafarers Centre at Tilbury; rated on January 26

• Rated 5: Searcys, Main Hall at Inner Temple Treasury, The Terrace, London; rated on January 19

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: City University Club at 42 Crutched Friars, London; rated on January 30
